Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Body Positive

What’s the first thing most women do when they get home after a long day?  I’m pretty sure 99% of women would say, they take off their bra.  Those things are so uncomfortable.  It’s like you’re in a cage and can finally breathe once you’re home.  No, I’m not being dramatic.  But what if you had one on that you could pretty much live in?

Here’s the thing… my sister, Linet, was blessed with assets that I didn’t really get (thanks grandma!).  She is always complaining that the bigger the bra size, the uglier the bra or the more uncomfortable it is.  I had to introduce her to Bloom Bras.  A sports bra made specifically for those… blessed.  The sizing goes from 28C to 56L.  Talk about inclusive!

Linet is really into working out these days, but she always has an issue finding a supportive sports bra without any wires or pinching.  The Bloom Bra is supportive, fits any curvy body, and is cute as heck.  I am obsessed with the zip front and sheer back.

The bra has no underwire and distributes the weight across the back and sides instead of on the shoulders or across the ribs.  So there are no horrible indentations when you’re done wearing it.

Although the straps are wide, they still look really good and the whole look is trendy and can be worn without a top.  This isn’t your grandma’s brassiere, folks.  The straps are adjustable and the cups are even adjustable.  As women, our weight fluctuates so much and this also means the size of our bust does, too.  I’m so tired of buying a million bras just to fit what size I currently am.  Also, the cups were designed with Oprah’s corset designer… let that sink in.

One of my favorite things about the Bloom Bra is that all of the adjustments are on the front of the bra and not the back.  I can’t count how many times I’ve struggled adjusting straps while wearing a bra.  It’s almost impossible.  Linet was able to do all of her favorite moves without popping out or having to pull up or tuck in anything.  I think we’ve found a winner.

When Elyse Kaye created the Bloom Bra, she had women in mind.  The bra is actually designed by women in San Francisco and produced by women in Sri Lanka.  She wanted to create something that adjusts to the body, not the other way around.

Bloom Bras came after Elyse’s own struggle with finding a sports bra that fit naturally and was comfortable to work out in.  It was actually designed in honor of her grandma, whom she lost to breast cancer.  The Bra is designed specifically to help women who have had non-elective reconstructive surgery.  Forget mastectomy bras, this is the new way to recover. Today, Bloom Bras donates bras to breast cancer survivors.

My sister is loving the bra and if I had known I was pregnant when picking a size, I may have gotten my own, too.  Actually, it’s never too late!

“We design sports bras that are easily adjustable for every activity and are always comfortable to wear. I want to empower women to get out there.”
