I love comfy casual streetwear for women. It’s not super common, so when I find a brand I like, I stick with them, especially when they are all about empowering women.
I came across Girl Gang and…. I’m obsessed. It’s sassy, edgy, and empowering all at the same time. The clothes are comfortable and I can wear them anywhere. Currently, during this Covid-pandemic, I’m in comfy clothes all day and night. I enlisted some of my boss b**** girlfriends to show off the trends.
The Los Angeles brand’s mission is to inspire women to reach their highest potential… together. I am all about empowering other women, so this mission is right up my alley. There’s no reason for women to go against each other. We have to form girl gangs of supportive and influential bosses, so the rest of the world knows what's up.
I love that Girl Gang has various collections, like Support Your Local Girl Gang, Building a Fempire, and You’re the Tits. Their cheekiness always gets me.
This whole winter I was really into beanies, so I’m definitely digging the Support Your Girl beanie. You better.
I’m also in sweats all day, so finding a cute and comfy pair is usually my goal in life. My bestie is rocking the Girl Gang Joggers all while she supports female creators. The fit is relaxed, but I love that the legs are tapered, giving it a bit more structure and style.
Girl Gang boss babe Amy Will doesn’t just create clothes, she sets the tone for empowering women. Her Girl Gang Podcast features various creative women speaking up about their accomplishments, challenges, and their journey to success. Being a female entrepreneur doesn’t come easy, and these women spill all the details. The podcast highlights female-owned and managed brands like Pizza Girl Inc, Y7 Studio, Nourish Swear Soul, and wearNYLA.
Aside from the podcast, Girl Gang has a full directory of female owned businesses. Within their own merchandise site, they promote everything from jewelry, makeup and skincare, and even cannabis and CBD brands. It’s never a competition with Girl Gang.
Girl Gang also works with amazing causes to further women’s movement. Year-round, they collaborate with organizations like Keep a Breast Foundation, BeYOUtiful Foundation, and STEM Center USA. For example, $2 from every item purchased from the You’re the Tits collection supports Keep a Breast Foundation. They are always on the lookout for foundations supporting women’s health and education.
I can go on and on about supporting women who kick ass, but it’s brands like Girl Gang who are actually putting in the steps to do something about it. Here’s to building a fempire!
