Imperfectly Perfect
Fall is here and winter is near, so that can only mean one thing… it’s time for scarves! I am obsessed with wearing scarves. It is the perfect accessory because it can complete an outfit. Lately, with the weather making a quick drop when the sun sets in LA, I love grabbing my lightweight Summiya scarf to keep me warm.
The Summiya scarf from Waypoint Goods doesn’t just keep me warm and keep my outfit on point, it actually holds my stuff! I get so annoyed having to hold my phone, or having to keep my purse on me at all times in case I need to reapply lipstick, especially when my pants don’t have pockets. I absolutely love this feature on the scarf.
The scarf is perfect for traveling. I can say goodbye to a purse and keep all my essentials like my wallet in the zipper compartment. It is actually a large enough space for a phone, small wallet, and makeup, at 8” wide and 7” deep. It’s actually kind of perfect for carrying feminine products, too.
When I put my wallet in the pocket and zip it, it is really hard to tell where my stuff is without feeling for it. The scarf keeps its smooth and soft look without any indentations. The zipper disappears in the fabric, too.
The best part about the Summiya scarf is that 100% of the sales proceeds are donated to the Marshall Direct Fund. The organization empowers women in Pakistani communities. They provide free and quality education for girls (and their brothers) and economic empowerment opportunities for women.
The scarf was actually named in honor of the 15-year-old girl who submitted the scarf’s pattern drawing. Summiya and other Marshall Direct Fund girls submitted their hand-drawings for a competition. There were 54 entries and 3 finalists, but Summiya’s simple yet artistic drawing took first place.
The blue and white pattern is artistic and beautiful, but is simple enough that it could be worn with different types of outfits. My all black outfit desperately needed a pop of color, and the Summiya scarf was the perfect addition.
I also love that the scarf is an infinity style. Regular scarves are cool and all, but let’s be real, sometimes I don’t know what to do with the two ends that just hang. The infinity style pretty much does the styling for you. Whether I wear the scarf with or without wrapping it around, it just looks chic.
I recommend the Summiya scarf for anyone on your gift list this holiday season. It is practical, functional, chic, and really thoughtful. I am sure whoever is receiving it will be thrilled to know where the proceeds went.
