Suga Suga
At 28 weeks pregnant, I’ve learned one very important thing… you CAN’T eat everything you want! Apparently, you have to eat very healthy, especially when it comes to sugars, or else you’re in danger for gestational diabetes. So, you’re telling me my nightly mountain of ice cream is a no-go?
I was on the hunt for some healthy sweet snacks to cap off my evenings. I came across Beach House Bowls and had to try their Acai Bowls. I had an acai frozen smoothie once, so I already knew I would like the flavor.
I immediately fell for the packaging. Yes, packaging goes a long long way. The fact that it comes with the acai smoothie, the right amount of gluten free granola, and a wooden spoon to eat it all with means that this is the easiest snack I could possibly grab. It is pretty great to throw in my bag when I’m running errands and know I will get hungry.
The granola is mixed with almonds, coconut chips, mulberries, cashew, and oats. The acai has all of my favorite things… acai berries, blueberries, apples, blackberries, raspberries, and bananas. Talk about a supreme antioxidant in a jar! The best part is, with all of the yummy berries and fruits and the granola mix, the entire thing is only 140 calories and 3g of sugar. I don’t even want to look at what my ice cream’s sugar content is.
Lately, I have been craving smoothies and before the Beach House Bowls, I kept wanting to go to those big chain juice places. Then I would remember the amount of sugar those things contain and how expensive they can be. The Beach House Bowls Acai Smoothie Bowl is vegan, gluten free, and all natural, and it’s only $24 for a case of 4! It tastes delicious, like a bowl of fruit with the perfect amount of crunch. Like I’ve said in past posts, I’m a texture person, and this Acai Bowl is the epitome of a smoothie.
I love to leave the smoothie in the fridge until it’s super cold so I can enjoy a nice refreshing snack. These can definitely be a meal, like breakfast or lunch, but when you’re eating for two, it’s a go-to in-between meal.
Beach House Bowls was created in California and has clean ingredients, meaning nothing artificial is going in the jars. They are even dedicated to providing jobs for Americans with disabilities by creating a facility in the San Francisco Bay area where the final assembly of the product is done. They’ve partnered up with Pride Industries, a company dedicated to employing working-age Americans with disabilities.
Beach House Bowls has also created a 1+1 Program and are working #BeyondTheBowls. For every bowl sold, they commit one minute to beach clean up in an effort to reduce the brand’s environmental impact and keep the world clean. I love this! They are organizing their own beach cleanups throughout California, and are also teaming up with non profits like The Pacific Beach Coalition.
I love a company that gives back (obviously) and Beach House Bowls is going over and beyond. They are also donating 5 meals to families in need for every Beach House Bowls order. So, helping Americans with disabilities, helping clean up beaches, and helping families in need.
OK, Beach House Bowls... I see you.
