Juniors with Style
Back in the day, I used to do promo modeling for a great men’s hair product line, Johnny B. We went around schools in Los Angeles giving out prizes and styling guys’ hair. It was actually a ton of fun.
Fast forward many moons (maybe 10 years!) and Johnny B is expanding their haircare line to include Juniors. I LOVE this. My 10-year-old cousin Dante has been styling his own hair since he was 5. I knew he would be the perfect model for Johnny B Juniors.
I gave Dante the products and let him go crazy. He loved the Detangler and knew his sister would want to borrow it, too. The Juniors Detangler is great because it not only helps gently detangle hair, it leaves it looking smooth and shiny. I think it’s a great perk that it can be used while hair is dry or wet. Sometimes, even I forget to use my detangler when my hair is wet and after I dry it, it’s too late!
Johnny B Juniors really put kids at the forefront. The Detangler ingredients include thyme and various flower extracts. The scent is what really got me. The carrot and almond oil scent is neither feminine or masculine, so this detangler can be used on boys or girls.
The Juniors Gel was another one of Dante’s favorites. He used the gel to style his hair and loved how it turned out. As a soon-to-be-mom to a boy, I’m glad to see styling products have evolved and are being made specifically for kids.
Dante was worried about flaking after he applied the Juniors Gel, but there was absolutely none. I like that the product has naturally based ingredients that are irritant and allergen free, too, since kids can have allergies we don’t even know about.
The Juniors Shampoo and Conditioner are fantastic ways to start the hair styling process. The shampoo cleanses without harsh ingredients, while the conditioner moisturizes with chamomile and leaves strands fabulously shiny. Neither product contains any harsh chemicals or toxins and the berry scent is heavenly.
Dante had never actually used a pomade. After a quick lesson about what it does, he was so excited to try it. The Juniors Pomade tames flyaways and can help you look put together, even after waking up with bedhead. I love that it could be used on curly or straight hair.
The Johnny B Juniors products are a great addition to any kids’ styling process. They’re perfect for kids’ hair that’s just not quite ready for the adult stuff. The products are also vegan, cruelty free, and pH balanced.
Johnny B President and CEO Alfonso Anorga didn’t want to just expand his haircare line, he wanted it to mean something, too. He partnered with ACEing Autism when his 21-year-old autistic son Evan suggested the idea to help give back and bring attention to the great cause. ACEing Autism is a volunteer-driven non-profit helping autistic children between the ages of 5 to 18 develop motor skills and improve social interaction through weekly two-hour tennis lessons. It warms my heart that Anorga uses kids from the organization as models to help keep it all authentic.
