Beautifully Clean
I used to dread having to put on a full face of makeup. Key word: used to. Since I’ve been stuck at home with nowhere to go for what feels like 87 years, I get so excited for any excuse to play with makeup.
I discovered dome BEAUTY when I was searching for safe makeup - you know, stuff that isn’t filled with random chemicals and won’t make you breakout. When I opened the packaging, I was stunned by the colors. The eyeshadows were so vibrant and when I put it on, the pigment was perfect.
One of my favorite products was the 24 Hr Mousse Shadow. I’m no makeup expert, so I’ve actually never heard of mousse shadow. I usually wet my shadow brush to get a glossy finish from my shadows, but this mousse shadow did that for me. I was so surprised at how effortlessly it glided on my lids and it only went exactly where I needed it to go - no smudging. I used the Ruby Red and it was actually a gorgeous mauve. Yes, I’m obsessed with mauve everything.
Even though the mousse shadow isn’t powder, it didn’t feel sticky or heavy on my lids. I also love that it didn’t cause any random creases, either. The best part is, the formula is made to moisturize your lids. Talk about a win-win.
I also applied the Iced Amethyst Metallic Diamond Shadow around the outer corners of my lids and on my crease. It blended with the mousse shadow perfectly and went on very smooth. I can’t rave enough about the pigmentation of the shadow.
Up next, my favorite part. I am always wearing eye liner, even if I don’t have a full face on. I think eye liner is the most important makeup product. It can completely enhance the shape of your eye and make it look rounder, more cat-eye, and even droopy - a la Twiggy. When it comes to eye liner, practice makes perfect.
I love the Dome Black Gel Eye Liner. I usually use a pen liner, but it never comes out as vibrant as I like. The Gel Liner does the job perfectly. I used the Dome Eye Liner Brush which, to my surprise, worked out great. I always thought you need a slanted brush, but this got the job done. I also love how soft the brushes are. The brush set comes with a blender, a shadow, and a liner brush in a very cute travel-friendly pouch. Dome’s brushes are actually dome-shaped instead of flat like most brushes, so you can get to every contour of your face.
Finally, to finish out my eyes, I applied mascara. I’m not going to lie, I’m a mascara snob. I don’t use false lashes or lash extensions, but I still want the dramatic look day and night. I have to put on loads of mascara. I loved how the Dome Black Magic Mascara went on. It was super smooth and the brush was big enough to get all my lashes in one swoop, but I could still go in and get the tiny ones, too. I put a few layers on and noticed it wasn’t clumping, so major brownie points for that. It also provided a ton of volume, which is number one on my mascara checklist. The best part about the mascara is that the formula is derived from olives and actually strengthens lashes and repairs damage.
After doing my face with the essentials, I needed to finish the whole look with blush. I usually use a mauve blush, but lately I have been noticing that I look pale in photos. I was a little hesitant to try the Dome Havana Heat Cheek Envy Blush because it looked super pink in the adorable packaging. Girl, I was so wrong. It’s now my go-to blush. I love how it blended so beautifully with my foundation, so I wasn’t left with random streaks and it complimented my eye makeup and my lipstick.
