Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Cado Crazy

Cado Crazy

This whole stay at home order has me doing one thing aside from dressing up to go to the end of the block… snacking.  I am constantly looking for something salty to eat, but since I can’t go out and stay as active as I usually am, I needed to start looking for healthy options.

I came across Avo Crazy - a variety of puff chips made from avocados.  Move over cauliflower, there’s a new healthy alternative in town.  Full disclosure: I hate avocados. I won’t put them in anything and don’t understand how people eat avocado and toast.  However, I love guacamole. It’s a texture thing more than taste.

I was hesitant to try the avocado puffs but decided what the heck… anything for a snack.  I ate an entire bag in about 5 minutes. I was shocked how delicious the puffs were. The texture, the taste, and the fact that it’s only 100 calories a bag has me completely on board.

I was all about the Vegan Cheddar puffs.  They are gluten free, dairy free, and completely all natural.  I love cheddar flavor (although, I don’t like actual cheese… I’m complicated), but hate when there’s a mess all over my hands after inhaling a bag of chips.  The Avo Crazy bag doesn’t leave residue and it’s not greasy. Now I’m craving more.

I also tried the BBQ Salsa flavor.  Are you kidding me?!  I love everything BBQ… everything.  The puffs were no exception. The puffs even have 1 gram of protein.  I think this is how I’ll get my daily protein from now on. These are seriously addicting and I’m going to come out of this pandemic with an avocado problem.

Thankfully, I had three bags because two wasn’t going to cut it.  Next up was the Vegan Ranch puffs.  I love everything ranch flavored, but not a fan of actual ranch sauce (again, my texture people will understand me).  The Avo Crazy puffs taste just like ranch but they excluded all the bad stuff. I’m so glad these puffs come in packs of 8, because trust me, you will need more than you think.  Just like all the other flavors, the Ranch is vegan, all natural, gluten and dairy free.

I wanted to highlight this delicious brand not just for their amazingly healthy puffs that I can’t get enough of, but because of what Avo Crazy does year-round.  Now more than ever, Americans are going hungry. The Coronavirus is causing more than what the news outlets are reporting on. Because people are out of jobs due to shut downs, they don’t have the money to feed their families.  Avo Crazy donates 1 meal to hungry families in San Francisco for every case of puffs sold. They’re helping families, the homeless, and impoverished elders through a partnership with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

Avo Crazy and their socially conscious creators are doing their part, all while creating healthy snacks that are actually doing good for the body.

“1 in 5 residents in San Francisco and Marin needs food assistance and we are proud to be part of the solution that reduces this.”
