Valentine's Day Roamer
It’s almost the big V-Day and people are starting to panic. We just used all of our creative muscles to figure out Christmas gifts, now it’s time to do it again for Valentine’s Day.
Have no fear, I’m here to help. I am really into giving experience gifts because they seem to make a bigger impact. Plus, I get an experience for two, so it’s also like a gift for myself.
Ever since I saw something like this on Housewives of Beverly Hills, I have always wanted to try it… a scavenger hunt! I came across the Let’s Roam app and I was ready to go.
The best part about Let’s Roam is that you can purchase the tickets and start immediately, so this is perfect for you last minute-ers. The app has different options for different-minded people. I went with the city scavenger hunt, but if you want a cute date-night (perfect for V-day), you can choose that one and the challenges are specific for couples. Or, if you want to have a crazy night on the town, there’s a bar hunt and crawls hunt, where you go bar to bar doing challenges. I think I will choose this one next!
I love that Let’s Roam is available all over the US and Canada. I will definitely use it next time I’m on a trip in a new city. What better way to go sight-seeing and learn about a city’s history? This time around, I went with the beautiful city of Pasadena. I know the city fairly well, but I also know it has a very rich history and I was ready to explore.
The app had us start at 100 Garfield Avenue, better known as City Hall. I’ve had many shoots here, so I thought I knew the area pretty well. The questions definitely stumped me and we had to go walking around to find everything it was asking for. Without spoiling the fun, some of the questions have to do with the history, and I was a great guesser.
Next up was the Jackie and Mack Robinson statues across the street. I honestly never knew Jackie Robinson was from Pasadena, so this was a really cool experience. The app even has you take photos of you or your teammates doing specific-to-the-location things.
We then headed to the Pasadena Central Library. What a gorgeous library! I didn’t know this place existed, but hubs is from Pasadena and knew all about it. Thankfully, he knew a lot of the answers, and again, I’m a great guesser.
The next place was a treat! It was the church hubs and I got married in. We were very surprised it was part of the hunt, but also not so surprised since it has a beautiful history. St. Andrew’s Church has been in Pasadena since 1927 (that’s your only freebee, folks).
Let’s Roam is at the top of my Valentine’s Day gift list because they work with non-profit organizations by donating scavenger hunts to their charity fundraisers or special events. They also donate to organizations like One October, who help children navigate the foster care system, WRAP, a rape assistance program, and A Precious Child, helping children in need with resources and opportunities.
I had such a fun time completing the Let’s Roam scavenger hunt. It’s adventurous but not exhausting, and honestly a great way to get outside and walk around while learning awesome facts. I don’t want to ruin all the surprises, so I won’t give away the rest of the locations. It’s definitely worth checking out.
