Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

Mini Chic

When I travel, I love to see different parts of a country or city.  When I went to Portugal 6 years ago, we went on an 8-hour walking tour and saw some of the most incredible places.  I figured I would be prepared for hours of walking on my trip to Armenia, but I still wanted to look cute. I make hubs take photos at every stop, so I can’t look raggedy, y’all.

Traveling is a lot of fun, but it’s definitely a lot of work, especially if you’re like me and travel with 3 suitcases and outfits to last you through the season.  When I was packing for my trip, I tried so hard to pack light and make the most of each piece I was taking. One of my biggest struggles was keeping my accessories to a minimum.

One of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe is my SportsChic pink tote bag that I featured earlier this year.  However, although perfect for the plane, it’s a little on the larger side to carry around while sight-seeing.  SportsChic already thought about this and created a solution to my first-world problems.

I usually carry around a backpack for errands, but the one I was using was SO heavy, even with barely anything in it.  I knew I’d end up chucking my bag in a lake, so I had to find something lighter. SportsChic came through! Their Mini Backpack is one of the lightest bags I own at under 1 lb, and it’s SO cute!  I even carried a full-size water bottle in the backpack, and it didn’t cause it to be any less comfortable.

I’m obsessed with the Titanium White color.  It has a gorgeous pearl metallic look to it, making it edgy and soft at the same time.  It feels like luxurious soft leather, but I LOVE that it’s vegan. Even the straps are super comfy, so it’s never an issue on my shoulders.  I can wear it sporty or make it more stylish.

The padded compartment is the best.  It’s meant for phones or small tablets, but I carried my wallet and hotel room keycard in it because it’s in the safest place, right against your back.

I carried the SportsChic mini backpack when we went to Lake Parz (Clear in Armenian) in Dilijan. The lake is a small natural lake in the mountains… so breathtaking.  The bag had all my essentials and worked so perfectly well with my outfit.  My mom was with us and she was carrying a regular bag which looked like it was annoying her (sorry, mom!).

I also had the bag with me in the city, like when we went up the Cascade steps and through the museum.  Another detail I love about the bag is the studs on the bottom. I can place my bag on the floor without any worries of it getting dirty or falling over.  It’s the little things!! It also has an easy open flap that closes securely with magnets and a draw string. Nothing is coming out of this puppy unless I want it to.

SportsChic does a lot to give back.  They support Cedars-Sinai Women’s Breast Recovery Program in Los Angeles.  The brand is now located in Orange County, but they continue their work at Cedars and want to expand their efforts with local organizations, too.  Aside from Cedars, SportsChic also donates product to Upward Bound House in Santa Monica and the Boys and Girls Club of Venice.

I can’t see myself ever not using the Mini.  It has the perfect amount of compartments, a gorgeous hot pink waterproof interior which makes me smile every time I open my bag, and is actually UV protected.  I tried the bag with multiple outfits, and it worked every time, morning and night. The bag also comes in a gorgeous metallic pewter and a hot metallic bronze. Not going to lie, it’s my new go-to.

“SportsChic was born on the tennis court. Karin Shoup, SportsChic’s founder and designer, wanted to provide an alternative to boring sports-branded bags by creating a fun, functional, and stylish bag that women could enjoy on and off the court.”
