Nourish Beauty Inside Out
Makeup, moisturizers, creams, serums, highlighters, I could go on and on. Toss them! You don’t need them! What is the point of all of your surface products if you’re not treating your skin from the inside out?
Nourish Modern Wellness has stepped into the beauty world and caused a stir. Nourish focuses on beauty in an organic, natural, and holistic perspective. After being diagnosed with an incurable hormonal condition 20 years ago, founder and chief creative officer of Nourish Modern Wellness, Dr. Orie Achonwa, decided it was time to take her weight gain, menstrual cycle, and skin issues into her own hands and shift the focus of beauty internally.
“Even the best products and advance skin treatments don’t work as they should if you’re not eating foods that will feed the complexion and enhance cell turnover. That’s the first part,” explains Dr. Orie. “The other half of the beauty from within equation is helping you eat the type of foods that will balance the gut microbiome so your body will absorb the nutrients you’re eating.”
From teas and tonics, to advanced skin treatments, Nourish starts from the inside and helps you work your way to your softest, most radiant skin. Look out JLo, my inner glow is about to shine!
I used the Radiance Greens Beauty Food in my coffee every day for 30 days. I probably could have put it in a much healthier option, but that was my sure way of getting my daily fix. The one I used is specifically for fighting acne. I’m thankfully past my teenage years, but I get horrible breakouts every so often, and usually, it’s because I’m eating way too much sodium or indulging in too much chocolate. The herb powder includes schisandra berry, rehmannia, ashwagandha, marine collagen, and bamboo extract. Look them up, they’re all fantastically natural ingredients. Aside from acne, the other tonics help battle lethargy, restlessness, and weight gain. I'll take one of each, thank you.
“We created the ‘problem’ areas to make it easier for people to get what they need for their well being and get on with their lives,” says Dr. Orie. “With this system you can easily identify common habits that are true for you and match it with a tonic that provides the key nutrients you need to maintain a healthy complexion and boundless energy.”
Beauty is important to most, but nutrition is important to everyone. That’s why Dr. Orie wanted to incorporate nutrition and education within Nourish.
“Since we’re a brand about helping people live their best lives, it was natural for us to support child nutrition programs because science shows that the right nutrition at the right time gives children the power to do and become anything,” explains Dr. Orie.
For every Nourish Modern Wellness product purchased, a percentage of the earnings goes to financially support nutrition based organizations connected to children suffering from conditions or diseases that can be remedied through nutritional therapy. Talk about taking it a step further with a beauty brand!
“Over the years I’ve developed relationships with other child nutrition NGOs and we now support their feeding efforts,” says Dr. Orie. “We’re consistently in five different countries but have had the honor of supporting child nutrition efforts across the world.”
Dr. Orie just launched a podcast called Wellness After Dark, providing insight and inspiration for better living. She also takes questions from teens and twentysomethings about life, stress, and nutrition on her site.
