Yoga for the Soul
NOT-SO-FUN FACT: 1 in 4 ingredients in all modern pharmaceuticals come from the rainforest, yet only 1% of plants that live there have actually been studied for their medicinal value.
Now… Deep breath in, slow breath out. Yoga is an incredible art form for the mind, body, and soul. I have issues with my wrists which stops me from trying new things with yoga, so I remain a beginner.
Co-founder and CEO of Soulstice, Danny Blue, created a lifesaver for taking the pressure off your wrists, the Soulsleeve. An intricately designed wrist compression sleeve that helps support both mind and body with graduated compression. A special positive message is even printed on the inside as a simple reminder to enjoy life. Mine said, “Breathe”.
“The idea for the Soulsleeve came from seeing how many amazing types of designs were out there for yoga pants, but nothing similar for one of the most commonly injured body parts, the wrists,” explains Danny.
Yoga isn’t Danny’s only passion. Here is where the not-so-fun fact ties in. He created Soulstice because he had a mission that was inspired by documentaries about the horrifying effects of deforestation on the planet. He began supporting organizations who were trying to help, then realized it was time to develop an impact-driven company that had the potential to make a huge difference.
“My mission is to utilize Soulstice as a platform for engaging as many people as possible in the re-awakening to this connection with Mother Earth so that we can feel good about passing it on to our children,” says Danny.
Danny and Soulstice teamed up with Rainforest Trust, a nonprofit organization that protects millions of acres of rainforests from destruction while helping the world’s most endangered species thrive.
“Due to a unique organizational structure, the operations of Rainforest Trust are fully funded by their board, which allows them to allocate 100% of the donations that come in to the projects they’re working on,” explains Danny. “That’s huge for the business model I’m working with, because it allows each of our customers’ purchases to truly help protect an entire acre of rainforest, as opposed to having some of those funds go to operations.”
Every single item purchased from Soulstice enables Danny and his team to save up to an acre of endangered rainforest. He works with Rainforest Trust by partnering with local and community organizations in and around the areas that are being threatened. After the acres of endangered land are purchased, the local people are empowered to help protect it through education, training, and employment. Danny’s goal is to save 1 million acres by 2023.
In the next couple of months, Soulstice will hold a Kickstarter campaign for a special eco-bracelet. For a chance to win a $100 gift card and be notified of the launch for access to Super Early Bird discount prices, check out Soulstice Tribe.
