YES to Self-Care
Happy September and happy national self-care awareness month! Everyone always says “self-care this” and “self-care that”. I finally caved; self-care is important. It’s important for my body, soul, and mind. I’m not just saying that because it’s “in” right now. The difference is undeniable.
I wanted to start this whole self-care process slowly. First step, let’s relax the body and mind with a nice bath. Bath-time for me is usually a super quick shower while jamming to Ariana Grande. Not so relaxing… more like pumping me up for the next task of the day. I realized I was overdue for a nice relaxing bath and I was taking my Live by Being bath-time fun with me.
First up, milk. I honestly didn’t ever know about putting any type of milk product in a bath. The Live by Being Release Milk Bath is glorious! I want to shout about it so everyone hears me. This stuff softens every bit of my body and I don’t have to do anything but just enjoy the relaxation. The reusable bottle is filled with coconut milk and cocoa butter that releases the sweetest aroma. The scent reminded me of chocolate, thanks to the cocoa, and that was obviously my favorite part.
Up next, I dumped almost half the bottle of the Still Bath Salt into the tub. I probably should have done some portion control, but I got really excited about the pink Himalayan salt. The pink stuff along with the dead sea salt helps relieve aches and pains from the body. It’s no wonder I almost dumped the whole thing. The salts have magnesium and other minerals that help with any muscle discomfort.
Last year I was dealing with a bit of eczema. I had never experienced it before, and although minor, it definitely caught my attention. I hated applying chemical-enhanced topical creams and wanted a more natural solution. The Himalayan salt actually contains oils of geranium and ylang-ylang to help soothe skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. I wanted to stay in my bath and never get out. Deep breath in, deep breath out.
Kennedy Lowery created Live by Being to inspire women to create a space where they can find calm in the chaos and reconnect with who they are. Kennedy, I found my space!! Kennedy wanted to spread this message to a community of people who don’t usually have the luxury to stop and think about self-care.
With every product purchased from Live by Being, a foster child is taught the importance of self-care. Kennedy was a former foster youth, so she knows what the hundreds of thousands of kids go through. Her mission is to help promote programs and services who cultivate self-efficacy, self-love, and self-care for kids. Live by Being does this with BEINGfostered. The program donates a portion of products sold to non-profits who fit Kennedy’s mission by helping current and alumni foster youth.
My last step for bath-time self-care was my wonderful dry brush. I love how soft my skin feels after using a dry brush and the Live by Being brush did its job wonderfully. I love the size of the brush and the texture of the bristles. It didn’t scratch or hurt my skin. It was actually quite relaxing.
Live by Being fits everyone’s checklist: 100% natural, 100% GMO-free, No preservatives, No artificial additives, No parabens, No synthetic fragrances or dyes, Made in the USA, 100% vegan, and not tested on animals. Is there anything they’re missing?
